Getting About

Planes, trains, boats and wheels … so many ways to get out and about around the world. But if it’s walking you’re after, this is not the website for you!

I’ve flown on dozens of airlines, enjoyed several cruises, been on some awesome train journeys and driven all over the place. Here’s a selection of write-ups and reviews, both published and personal.

PRAGUE TO MUNICH on Lufthansa Cityline

A short hop flight that was seamless. Prague is great city to visit – you can never tire of its history and charm. Keen to go? Let me know!

I took this short flight in August 2019.

SAPSAN HIGH SPEED TRAIN Moscow to St Petersburg

Sapsan means “peregrine falcon” and this train travels up to 350kph. It takes between 3.5-4 hours to go between these two incredible cities. There are slower and overnight options – but if you can, take the Sapson – go biz class!

I travelled on the Sapsan in July 2019.

Ceiling in the Hermitage, St Petersburg

Let’s hope things in that part of the world settle down so that visiting becomes possible again.
