Following on from Sally and Simon Gault’s highly successful Epicurean Escapade to New South Wales, Australia, a foodie escapade to Italy is being planned!
With a focus on food, leisure and pleasure, the full itinerary and info will be available soon.
Different to the traditional Tuscan itinerary, this trip offers a unique chance to discover the little-known treasures of western and southern Tuscany and the Maremma area – The “Hidden Tuscany”. This area showcases Etruscan history and Italian loveliness in a gentle way, without hoards of tourists, but with lots of personal connection.
This photo is of the lovely hillside town called Giuncarico in the Maremma area where Sally’s good friends Roberto and Anna live. They run a restaurant called Osteria 1935 in the village square, where we’ll dine more than once! Roberto and Anna are magnificent hosts and will show us this area they love so much.
We’ll also do a cooking class with chef Roberto, and eat what we create! Eccellente!
We’ll explore the Etruscan coast, delving deep into its history and discovering its contemporary delights and great food/wine. This trip has a “stay put” element – we’ll have a beautiful base from which to explore the area with a private driver to take us out and about. And there’ll be time to just chill and relax and enjoy the environment, meet the locals and absorb all good things Italian.
This is a chance to really discover, at a gentle pace, the many delights and insights all these places offer. Come join us!
